I came to photography from the fine arts (BFA San Francisco Art Institute), mastering another set of tools for the expression of visual ideas and creative process. My training as a painter, sculptor and graphic designer laid a strong aesthetic foundation for my work. Continued education and experimental work established the technical knowledge necessary for professional work. For fifteen+ years I have been working as a portrait and fine art photographer, with commercial and editorial illustration assignments mixed in for balance and spice. As an artist continued creative growth and exploration is essential, each new assignment an opportunity to create dynamic powerful images.
